Planning minister represents Jordan at 4th Euro-Arab Summit

جهينة نيوز -Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Al-Assas, represented Jordan at the 4th Euro-Arab Summit, which opened in Athens.

According to the ministry statement issued on Sunday, the summit was opened by the Prime Minister of Greece with high-level participation of the Presidents of Cyprus and Greece, a number of Prime Ministers from the Balkan countries, the Deputy Prime Minister of Palestine, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, the Secretary-General of the Union for the Mediterranean and the wide participation in the event's two-day activities, and a large number of businesspeople and representatives of the private sector from the Arab and European regions.

During the summit, Al-Assas expressed thanks and appreciation to the Greek government for launching this cooperation forum, stressing the strategic relationship between Jordan and Greece and their joint determination to continue to work at all levels to best benefit from the opportunities to serve common interests.

He outlined Jordan's vision towards enhancing cooperation with the European side by focusing on the mutual interests prospects of interaction between the European and Arab regions, and the possibility of making more "tangible" impact through launching creative fields for policy.

The minister referred to the historical Arab and European relations, based on mutual interests and respect that have "witnessed momentum and unprecedented interaction in light of economic, political and social transformations at the regional and global levels".
