4850 cases of electricity theft uncovered since beginning of 2019

Authorities uncovered 4850 cases of electricity theft until the end of March, 2019, Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) Deputy Chief Commissioner, Wijdan Rabadi, said in a statement on Wednesday.

Of the 1213 cases referred to the courts, rulings in a total of 623 cases were issued, she announced.

Among these cases, 1718 cases were filed by the Jordanian Electric Power Company (JEPCO), 689 by the Irbid District Electricity Company (IDECO) and 223 by the Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO), Rabadi pointed out.
