Memac Ogilvy Adopts Policy of Managed Remote Working in Response to growing Global Threat of COVID-19
Amman, 15 March 2020 - Given the growing global threat of COVID-19 , and in line with government measures announced yesterday to curtail the virus, Memac Ogilvy Jordan will be moving to a policy of Managed Remote Working.
Under Managed Remote Working, Memac Ogilvy Jordan will remain open for business – subject to new government policy – but will take action to greatly reduce the density of people in its premises and the amount of travel to and from work.
Explaining the move, Mohammad Kamal, Managing Director & Creative Director of Memac Ogilvy - Jordan, stated: "Our top priority in this unsettling time is the wellbeing of our employees, and doing what we can to mitigate the impact of the virus on our communities. It is the socially responsible thing to do.”
He further added: "It is important to state that we remain open for business and will continue to meet our responsibilities to our clients and each other. Our global offices have tested the approach in many offices and our experience in China and Italy – where our people have been working remotely for some time – also shows that we can continue to operate effectively, and deliver to our clients. What we are doing now in Jordan is engaging a plan that we’ve had in place for some time.”
Business travel has been restricted for a number of weeks, but the agency is now moving to an enhanced policy ofno domestic or international business air travel without permission. Unless in truly exceptional circumstances, that permission will be denied.
