IEC, USAID discuss joint partnership
جهينة -A delegation from the US Agency for International Development (USAID), headed by General Counsel Craig Wolf, on Wednesday visited the Independent Election Commission (IEC) and discussed cooperation as part of the partnership project.
During a meeting at the IEC's headquarters, Zuhair Abu Fares, Deputy Chairman of the IECI Board of Commissioners, stressed the importance of the discussions to enhance the prospects of mutual cooperation, and to support the IEC's programs, which aim at improving Jordan's electoral process.
For his part, Wolf praised the commission's efforts and launch of a number of programs and projects, such as the Regional Electoral Training and Research Institute project, stressing the sustainability of coordination with the IEC and supporting the democratic process.
Held in cooperation with the Democratic Institute, the USAID delegation participated in a brainstorming session on electoral awareness and education, which is held by the IEC for a number of school and university students within the program "I Participate," aimed at integrating youth in the electoral process.
