Police officers injured in line of duty
جهينة -Three police officers were injured after a security task force carried out a raid in the Hittin camp, the Public Security Department (PSD) said in a statement Sunday.
The department revealed details of a video posted by a person on social media platforms showing the aftermath of the raid, which occurred Saturday at dawn.
In the video, the man claimed a woman was wounded as a result of a tear gas canister, but medical examination concluded that her injuries were consistent with impact with a blunt object.
The PSD stated that officers raided the home of two men "wanted" in relation to a murder in Jerash.
The suspects, along with others in the house, strongly resisted arrest and hurled rocks at the task force, while one man tried to set a gas cylinder on fire, it added.
It said backup was called in for assistance and tear gas was used to control the situation.
The officers are currently receiving medical treatment, the department assured, adding damages include several civilian vehicles.
Investigation into the incident began to be referred to the competent judicial authorities.
