House Speaker urges world pressure on Israel to stop Jerusalem breaches
In a meeting with Kenyan National Assembly Speaker, Justin Muturi, Tarawneh cited ongoing Israeli incursions into Islamic and Christian holy sites, attacks on civilians, building settlements, arresting children, women and old people and demolishing homes, which amount to a form of terrorism.
He reiterated Jordan's rejection of Israeli attempts to change the longstanding legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem and actions to "Judaise" the holy city.
During their discussion of Jordanian-Kenyan ties, Tarawneh pointed to the deep friendship between the two countries, pointing His Majesty King Abdullah's visit to Nairobi a few years ago, which, he said, opened the way for close cooperation in the various fields, particularly economic ties and combatting terrorism.
