Al-Fakhouri : limited fire is brought under control in an “outside terrace” at the Ritz-Carlton project within a record period

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Al-Eqbal Real Estate Development", Samer Tawfiq Fakhoury, revealed that the fire that occurred in the Ritz-Carlton project on Monday was limited to an area not exceeding 40 square meters inside the "outside terrace" on the 18th floor of the residential tower, where it was controlled in a record period by using permanent fire-extinguishing systems within the construction project.
He announced that the fire, thanks to God, did not cause any injuries, and the losses were limited to the materials that were ignited, in addition to light material damage to the area surrounding the site of the accident, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the civil defense teams and security services that rushed to the place in record time, in addition to the public safety team and contractors working on the project.
He pointed out that the speed of the dry winds, besides, the presence of raw materials (constructive materials) coated with insulating materials and "carton material", which in turn increased the volume of smoke in the air.
He stressed that the company always places a priority on adherence to all safety and security procedures, noting that the late Tawfiq Fakhoury, founder of Al-Eqbal Real Estate Development Company, was keen to develop a strategy since the beginning of the project to deal with such events, as a number of experts specialized in fire matters were appointed to supervise the public safety measures in the project and to ensure maximum readiness.
He announced that more than 12 million man-hours had been completed without any injury being recorded, thanks to full compliance with the safety procedures applied by the company as part of its strategy that it had set since the start of the project.
